The BRITs has a good reputation of being the funnest stop on the award's how calendar. It takes itself less seriously than the Grammys and there are also more celebs than the ARIAs. It starts very early in the morning in Australia, so we've teamed up with Cool Accidents for a live blog so that you can keep up with all the action without being completely awake.
9.44am Well, this may just be the most interesting thing that happened:
8.47am It's over! Robbie Williams is collecting a Brit Icon Award which is interesting. He's bagged 18 BRITs over his career which makes you think were the BRITs on drugs for as long as Robbie was?
8.45am Album Of The Year
The 1975 - Title Too Long To Type
David Bowie - Blackstar - WINNER
Kano - Made In The Manor
Michael Kiwanuka - Love & Hate
Skepta - Konnichiwa
"This award is for all the kooks and all the people who make the kooks," David Bowie's son Duncan Jones says collecting the award.
8.37am Stormzy came out and added bars to Shape Of You and we are infatuated by this unlikely bromance.

Coldplay - Hymn For The Weekend
James Arthur- Say You Won't Let Go

They didn't even bother reading out the nominees.
8.15am International Male Solo Artist

Bruno Mars
The Weeknd
Leonard Cohen
Drake could not be here to accept this award because he is in the UK.
8.06am Two years ago Kanye brought Skepta on-stage to promote grime and the performance was labelled "intimidating". Now Skepta is a Mercury Award-winning artist who is nominated and performing tonight. Amazing to hear a sound bit about the Kanye performance played during his performance of Shutdown. What a moment.
7.56am Katy Perry is re-doing her Grammys performance of Chained To The Rhythm with a lower budget.
7.50am British Single
Zayn - Pillowtalk
Clean Bandit - Rockabye (Feat. Anne-Marie & Sean Paul)

Well, it's about bloody time they got one. Shout out to the Brits for producing most of the problematic pop songs over the past 12 months.
7.45am Before we get too wrapped up with Chris Martin after that stunning tribute we regret to inform you that he's just released a song with The Chainsmokers.
7.41am Chris Martin is taking on the George Michael tribute, something that Adele handled at the Grammy Awards. He's performing A Different Corner released back in 1986. A video of George is singing along with Martin and it's actually pretty special.
7.35am Andrew Ridgeley is remembering the late great George Michael with Pepsi & Shirlie.
"A man beholden to nothing but his own boundless imagination," Ridgeley says.
“Music has magical power, and George knew that. He lives on in his music, and in our hearts,” Pepsi says.
7.34am Yet another reminder that 2016 was really rough.
7.24am The 1975 are flashing up things on the screen during their performance. Really makes you think.
7.22am Ed Sheeran is wearing spectacles. The night has hit a new peak.

Skepta

Wow. This is a huge category but they've chosen to hand it to someone who surely won't be a thing past this year. It's also worth noting Skepta is in this category even though his career has spanned almost two decades.
7.13am Robbie Williams has won more BRIT Awards than anyone else. That's what we're dealing with here.
7.09am Now its time for the one who does well when Adele isn't up for any awards. To be fair, she's got a huge voice on her hasn't she?
7.06am British Male Solo Artist
Craig David
Skepta
David Bowie - WINNER
Kano
Michael Kiwanuka
Michael C. Hall has accepted the award for Bowie. "If Bowie could be her tonight, he probably wouldn't be here tonight," he says.

The 1975 have taken out their first award tonight and they look bloody stoked about it.

6.53am Bruno Mars has taken to the stage to perform That's What I Like, channelling Boys II Men with a performance almost identical to his Grammys one.
