    POSTED

Someone online has done the maths and found out that in Roman Numerals XCX = 100. Please don't challenge us on that, challenge google but in light of that we've decided to list 100 of our thoughts on Charli XCX's rly freeken good new ear worm After The Afterparty.

Wish us luck. Here we go:

    1. It's produced by SOPHIE

    2. It's co-written by RAYE who sings this jam co-penned by Charli XCX.

    3. It's a Charli XCX song (duh)

    4. It's the best after the after party song since R.Kelly ended up in the hotel lobby on Ignition.

    5. The cover.

    6. All the press images going with it.

    7. It's basically an anthem for getting trashed.

    8. Lil Yachty actually really fits into a pop song.

    9. Have we mentioned we love Charli XCX? No, 'cos we do.

    10. It's simultaneously the most pop thing and weirdest thing she's ever done discounting Vroom Vroom.

    11. It makes us want to drink too much champagne.

    12. Pop music got serious this year and Charli is making it fun again.

    13. It probs means a new album is coming.

    14. The first time she sings "Riri on replay".

    15. The second time she sings "Riri on replay".

    16. The third time she shings "Riri on replay".

    17. When she sings "Riri on replay" in a different key".

    18. The song in emojis is quite cute isn't it?

    19. "I got glitter in my underwear like it was Studio 54" is a very good line.

    20. The murmuring atmospherics at the beggining is quite fun.

    21. The clink of a glass as a beat is a very clever idea tying in with the theme.

    22. Lil Yachty's line, "Shout out to Whitney she was so wicked," is a good cryptic line. Is it Whitney Houston? Or trendy, Laneway-bound band Whitney?

    23. We've gotta be honest, we're regretting do this many reasosn so we're just going to use up a reason on this.

    24. And, we're back. Big fans of how layered the chorus is vocally.

    25. Lil Yachty and Charli bonded over Panic! At The Disco.

    26. Lil Yachty told Charli when they met that he liked Sucker but she hates it now.

    27. This might be her best single.

    28. You (Ha Ha Ha) was pretty good, but this is probably the best still.

    29. This feels exactly like the sort of thing Charli should be making.

    30. It's kind of like the cuter cousin of Rihanna's Pour It Up.

    31. Meeting SOPHIE was the best thing that ever happened to Charli.

    32. There's literally nothing on the radio that sounds like this right now.

    33. She sounds really fkn good in the minimal parts of the chorus.

    34. Her audio trademark of "XCX, Charli" is almost as good as "Jasooooooon Derulooooooo"

    35. "Monday to Sunday, it's never too late," she sings which is fun in practice but most of us have to work so we'd probably amend that lyric to "Friday to Sunday".

    36. Initially when we heard the title we were confused as to what time the afterparty would be so we're glad she's specified that it's 4am.

    37. Wow, we're not even half way.

    38. "We're all in love," is a beautiful, inclusive line.

    39. "Ice cream for dinner," sounds very fun except don't do it all the time because it would really fuck with your protein levels.

    40. Lil Yachty's auto-tune sounds like salted caramel on the song. YUM.

    41. Even Buzzfeed wouldn't do a list as long as this.

    42. She has one of the most unique voices in pop and you can hear it here.

    43. Oh, there's speculation that the Riri song she's referring to is Cheers (Drink To That). Good song. Not Riri's best.

    44. "WE'RE ALL IN LOVE"

    45. "Let's pour another drink, the glasses go *clink* (sound effect)," is a beautiful thing. Why aren't there more sound effects in pop.

    46. Imagine if this was a Taylor Swift song. Lol.

    47. The album has been produced by SOPHIE and Stargate which is kind of like two modes of pop - the innovative and the traditional.

    48. Charli XCX wrote MO's most recent single Drum.

    49. It makes Boom Clap sound a bit beige.

    50. Are you still with us? We're half way through.

    51. Thinking of other rappers who could've been good on the track. We've got Lil Bow Wow, Tkay Maidza and Young Thug.

    52. "Then when the time is up we do it all again," has a nice cyclical feeling to it.

    53. If she was to do After The Afterparty's Afterparty what would it sound like?

    54. This is about 400 per cent better than the current Australian number one James Arthur's Say You Won't Let Go.

    55. Maybe now Gaga's a bit more straight edge, XCX can be our avant-garde popstar.

    56. I feel like she'd think the word avant-garde is a bit wanky.

    57. People will hate this and then it will come on in the club at 4am and they'll be snapchatting furiously like they just saw the Lochness monster.

    58. We'd like to hear a Ronan Keating cover of this.

    59. It would be fun if she performed this at the ARIAs. Jimmy Barnes wouldn't know what had hti him.

    60. We were really struggling with this at about number 20 but we're on a roll now.

    61. Charli XCX tweeted that you could play this at your funeral. That'd be fun provided eveyone was in a good mood. That's probably rare.

    62. "Drop, drop, drop, drop, drop" might be the best part of the song.

    63. The last lyric is "yeah". That should be a rule for every pop song.

    64. This song just reminds us how serious pop is getting.

    65. I bet Charli XCX can't stand The Chainsmokers.

    66. "Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah" !!!!!

    67. CAPITALS TO DRAW YOUR ATTENTION BACK TO THE LIST.

    68. CAPITALS TO EXPRESS HOW MUCH WE LOVE THIS SONG.

    69. CAPITALS TO EXPRESS OUR ADORATION OF CHARLI.

    70. Oh, Andre 3000 Love Below era would've sounded good on this.

    71. But keep with Lil Yachty, he's probably the best option.

    72. You thought we had used all the best lyrics up in the first half of the list but we've kept one, "the neighbours might complain." Notice how they "might" complain. That risk drives the song.

    73. The best thing to drink to this song is Passion Pop*

    74. It actually sounds a little bit spooky which is appropriate for Halloween.

    75. There's a new Little Mix song out today. It isn't half as interesting as this.

    76. We like how the first chorus is minimal but the second is like BOOOM.

    77. "We don't wanna stop" could be substituted for "We don't give a fuck" in a naughty version.

    78. If we had to choose a Charli XCX song it sounds most like we'd go with What I Like.

    79. Someone on genius actually explained what after the afterparty means, "Charli XCX refers to the time after the afterparty, which in most cases is the time when you go to bed, in this case with someone else."

    80. "in most cases is the time when you go to bed...with someone else," fkn amazing.

    81. We're on the home stretch now. Ya still with us?

    82. The key change for, "and we do it like..." is just so good it should be illegal.

    83. It sounds like a glitter bomb.

    84. Wondering how a 10 year-old would interpret this?

    85. Is Lil Yachty saying "Le boat" through the final chorus?

    86. This would slot nicely into the Tkay Maidza record.

    87. This 100 notes thing is not a regular Cool Accidents feature. Please do not ever expect us to do this again.

    88. She's sharing party wisdom on Twitter with the hashtag #partylikecharli

    89. Lucky she's not into Vine. RIP Vine.

    90. Honestly, the only real party anthems we've had in the past few years have been big EDM anthems. This is a refreshing change of direction.

    91. Gonna send this to Mike Baird.

    92. In Sydney, the afters to the afterparty are at 10.15pm.

    93. Love a song where you can all chant in unison

    94. Australia was the first place the song was released.

    95. Everyone is going to have a red bikini this summer thanks to this:

    96. ????????????????????????

    97. Oh my god, we're blanking. Not at number 97, not this close to the end.

    98. Dreaming of video possibilities. Endless. (UPDATE: The video is here and it's perfect).

    99. Love the record scratch at the end of the track.

    100. Thanks for making 2016 interesting Charli.
