It wouldn’t take a genius to work out that an amalgamation of soul queen Mø, production legend Diplo and Manchester’s vastly promising whiz-kid Oceaán, international character overload, was likely to be a small taste of heaven but such a genius could not have imagined just how soul crushingly splendid Oceaán’s remix of XXX 88 would end up. It’s pure crack for the masses who devour themselves in the excruciatingly addictive atmosphere that Oceaán adds to what was already one of the tracks of the year.
Forward-thinking enough to be high on my keeping-one-eye-one list for the year to come, whilst priding himself enough on the prime time garage style movement of the past annum thanks to the likes of Disclosure, Flume and Gorgon City. So here’s an original beat from the man who although keeping stum for now is sure to have something big on the horizon for 2014.
