Lisa Mitchell has sprung back onto the scene with some exciting news. The Melbourne singer-songwriter debuted a brand new song (and video!) called 'The Boys', and announced the arrival of her third album, 'Warriors', to be released on Friday 14th October. Premiering on Triple J Breakfast this morning, listeners were treated to a breezy, nostalgia-ridden Autumn jam, perfect for rides in cars, with or without boys.
Lisa stated in a recent interview the meaning behind the song that 'The Boys' is "a song inspired by just noticing how guys spend time together, how they show affection – it’s always playing games or joking around or drinking, I notice a real buoyancy, or light-heartedness which I think is quite different to girls. Girls seem to get deep really quickly and not mind just chatting and lounging about for ages and just, ‘musing’ together."
Check out the clip for 'The Boys' below and if you're keen to catch her new material live, you can see her support Grouplove at their upcoming Oz shows.
FYI if you pre-order 'Warriors' (available Friday August 5th), 'The Boys' will be available as an instant download with each pre-order. Thanks, Lisa!
