We've been waiting for the follow-up to Nicki Minaj's third album The Pinkprint for some time now but it sounds like the follow-up is on the way.
Minaj spoke with the New York Times about the record, revealing a few details about it, although we still don't have a release date.
She called it "super, super iconic" and by the sounds of it, it's going to be very different from the last one.
"Sonically, I know what the album’s about to sound like. I know what this album is gonna mean to my fans. This album is everything in my life coming full circle and me being truly, genuinely happy," she said.
"It feels almost like a celebration. The last album, ‘The Pink Print,’ was almost like my diary, closing the chapter on certain things and not knowing if I was happy or sad about beginning new chapters. I was really writing about feeling unsure. Now, I can tell you guys what happened for the last two years of my life. I know who I am. I am getting Nicki Minaj figured out with this album and I’m loving her.”
She added that it's the most, "inspired and free and excited" she's been since her the days of her mixtapes.
It definitely sounds like she's getting ready to launch something big and we're ready. The last we heard from her on a solo front was the triple single drop of No Frauds, Changed It and Regret In Your Tears.
