Margaret Court revealed herself to be a homophobe against same-sex marriage this year leading to calls for the name of Margaret Court arena in Melbourne to be changed.
That hasn't happened, but the acts playing it are taking the opportunity to stick a middle finger up to her opinions by promoting equality.
The latest to do that is Icelandic band Sigur Rós who will visit the country next week for Splendour In The Grass and a few headline shows including one at Margaret Court Arena.
Court's comments have come to the attention of Sigur Rós and so they've decided to sell a t-shirt promoting equality with all proceeds going to Australian Marriage Equality.
“We know margaret court’s opinions are not shared by the majority of australians," the band said about the tee in a statement.
"We want to add our voice to the call for marriage equality in australia —right here on margaret court arena itself. australia should be a country that celebrates positivity and inclusion, as well as achievement on the sporting field.”
The tee will not only be available at their Melbourne show. It will also be sold at all their Aussie dates including Splendour.
