Sifting through everything that's dropped today to find the diamonds in the rough.

Major Lazer - Run Up (Feat. PartyNextDoor & Nicki Minaj)

Major Lazer may have just snuck in with a late contender for the song of summer. This dancehall jam features PartyNextDoor and Nicki Minaj who should go and do a whole album together because they're like peanut butter and toast. Perfect.

    Kehlani - Piece Of Mind

Kehlani's dropped her massive debut album SweetSexySavage today and this is one of the highlights from it. It's an honest, retrospective tune about moving on from all the bad shit and getting on with it.

Thundercat - Show You The Way

The bass king is back with a new album Drunk that has a casual 23 songs on it. One of those songs is Show You The Way which features Kenny Loggins of all people. It's a masterful, laid-back jam which should surprise no one.

Gallant, Tablo and Eric Nam - Cave Me In

Gallant has gifted us an unlikely collab today, tapping South Korean musos Tablo and Eric Nam for this super smooth, drfiting tune. Despite their very different worlds they combine effortlessly on this one, making some magic in the process.

    Methyl Ethel - Ubu

Methyl Ethel blitzed it with their first album, driven along by the sublime Twilight Driving and now they're back for round two. Ubu is plucked from new album Everything Is Forgotten and it sees them get funky and a little more ambitious on us. This might be the first sure bet for the Hottest 100 of 2017.

    Real Estate - Darling

Real Estate have a level of chill that's impossible to manicure. They're back with a new tune Darling off a forthcoming LP In Mind and it's going to soundtrack every lazy summer day.

Young Fathers - Only God Knows

This is the lead-single off the T2: Trainspotting soundtrack and it's been billed by director Danny Boyle as the sequal's answer to Underworld's Born Slippy. That's a very had thing to be tasked with, but they've done an incredible job with this raucous, pulsating tune.

Father John Misty - Pure Comedy

Father John Misty is back when we need him most. His new album Pure Comedy will be out in April and this is the politically-charged lead-single. It's a wandering ballad about the sorry state of the world.
