A Post About Beer

Whilst out drinking in Melbourne with our good friend from JB Hi Fi we came across some interesting beers. First we drank from this one -

Which was up on the chalk board. A beer dedicated to Monk we thought - cant be. But when the bottle arrived it clearly was. Check it out -

A dark thoughtful drop to be drunk with this -

I wouldn’t put its genius on a par with Monks but they had done well, and we felt good when we noticed this on the side of the bottle -

And since we like to be helpful we had some more bottles. I then wanted to know what else they had so on the way back from the toilet I saw this in the cooler -

Yes, it’s the fluro green Yeastie Boys. Its made in New Zealand and the bar tender told me it was an ‘acquired taste". Young and brattish I assumed in the mood of this -

Which is one of the best moments in pop video. Just like Mike D, Adrock and Yauch we hoped “No Bad People Come” as we tried it. Predictably young and brattish it was like beer with a sense of cough medicine (an idea patented by Lil Wayne apparently). And like the real Beasties it divided the table, but I liked it. In spirit at least.

Soon it will be time to go drinking in Melbourne again. Fitzroy is always fun. Maybe we’ll find A Lighter Shade of Pale Ale?
