If you're ready to get some good vibes injected into your veins this week, then you've come to the right place, mates. A fresh face on Melbourne's R&B/hip hop scene, Antoine is premiering his video clip for his debut single One Time with us and man, is it sure to have a smile plastered to your face for three-and-a-half minute.
Directed by Liam Kelly and Zoee Marsh, The video follows the main character Martha as she dances her way through Melbourne, having been handed the CD for One Time to play on her CD player (yep, throwback!) and the first few moments she starts to vibe and realise that One Time slaps is highly relatable.
The rest of the video is just constant euphoria - Martha's huge smile and ace dance moves are impossible to not get lost in, especially paired with Antoine's bars and the song's addictive beat.
Antoine tells us, “We always had the vision of movement and dance. The track has a real feel good vibe and with its Afrobeat style, a dance movement video was always on the cards. We are good at bringing our ideas to life in the studio but when it comes to the visuals, our amazing team in Liam and Zoe brought everything to life."
His producer Servidsound adds, "The biggest thing we all agreed on in pre-production was the use of a hand held camera throughout. Our DOP Anthony Littlechild was a little hesitant at first but Zoee and Liam insisted as it would be the rawness and flow of this technique that gives the whole look to the video. We are able to get right up and close with our lead “Martha” and bring the audience in.”
If you're keen to know more about Antoine and why his first single is so good, he comes from a family of musicians with backgrounds from Mauritius, East Africa and Italy. His dad still plays shows, while his mum was a singer in the '80s - it's no surprise their son would have music come naturally to him!
