Beyoncé has honoured a young fan that recently lost her two-year battle with cancer with an a cappella medley, and it's got us tearing up.
13-year-old Lyric Chanel passed away on Friday, March 5th, after battling anaplastic ependymoma, a tumour that results from cells in the central nervous system multiplying rapidly.
The slideshow features photos of Chanel, as Beyoncé sings a medley of Brown Skin Girl, Halo and Love On Top. Bey ends the medley by saying, “I love you with all of my heart". She also switches the lyrics from Love On Top. Instead of singing "baby, it's you", she sings "Lyric, it's you".
Back in September, Beyoncé sent Chanel flowers after her fourth brain surgery. In the card with the flowers, Bey wrote, "Honey, Honey I can see the stars all the way from here, I can feel the sun whenever you're near.
"I was so moved to see how these lyrics inspired you, not nearly as much as you inspired me. I can't wait to meet you one day and I'm so happy you're home safely. You are a survivor. God bless, B."
