Billie Eilish's hair has been lighting up social media recently, but it turns out that the decision to change her hair from green and black to blonde came after seeing a fan edit online.

Speaking on The Ellen Show, Billie says that she made the call after seeing what it would look like thanks to a photo edit from a fan, and it went from there.

She says, “I’ve been wanting blonde for a while. I don’t know what came over me. I saw a fan edit when I had green hair, and it was like, me just with whatever hair color I had, and they just edited blonde hair on me, and I was like, ‘Ahhh! It’s so sick I want it!’

"I kind of thought of it as a dream, I didn’t think it was going to happen because my hair’s been through so much, I thought it would burn it all off if I tried — but I did it.”

Billie broke records on social media after posting a picture of her going blonde on March 17th, and she hasn't looked back. It definitely suits her new era, which is leading up to her new album, Happier Than Ever, which drops on July 30th. It turns out fans are more powerful than we thought.
