Billie Eilish has revealed that she thought Spice Girls were a fictional girl group made up for the movie Spice World.
The 17 year-old artist ,who just hit number one globally with her debut album WHEN WE FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?, says that she's only just found out they were real.
The film, released in 1997, was scripted but Spice Girls were already a massive girl group before it dropped. That's news to Eilish.
“I thought all the music was written for the movie,” she told Capital FM (via NME).
“I thought all the characters were cast for those characters. I didn’t figure it out until two years ago.”
She further explained to Ellen that when she saw they were reuniting this year, she thought they were going to re-enact the movie.
To be fair, Spice Girls' last album came out in 2000, a year before Eilish was even born.
Some more news to make you feel old - Eilish is now the first person born in this millennium to debut at number one in the US.
