Bloods have just released their new album Feelings and we know their drummer Dirk Jonker is mad for horror movies, so, with the forthcoming release of Danny McBride’s reboot of Halloween and Luca Guadagnino’s take on Suspiria (with Thom Yorke on soundtrack duties), we asked, ‘who better to spill the blood on the best of horror?’
Grab yourself a bowl of popcorn - you might need to revisit these on your next movie night in.

Dawn Of The Dead
George A Romero's masterpiece is like a gore-filled, technicolour comic book come to life! The cast is amazing and iconic, the underlying concept is fascinating for its time, and the setting of a late '70s shopping mall is like looking into a time capsule. All of this goes towards making this my fave movie, horror or not, of all time!
A Nightmare On Elm St 2
Now, of the first three Nightmares this is usually the odd one out. But for some reason, I find this the one I return to the most. It is a cheesy '80s classic, and it features a psychotic, self-combusting bird - what more could you ask for??
Zombi 2 aka Zombie Flesh Eaters
Classic Italian horror from the late '70s. Lucio Fulci's brutal tale of the undead that features a battle between a zombie and an actual, real shark - always felt sorry for the stuntperson! Amazing make up on the zombies, they look long-dead which is cool.
Creepshow
Awesome anthology style movie (five short films making up one long film) directed by George Romero and written by Stephen King. My fave story is probably The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill - which stars King as a guy out in the country who discovers a meteorite, which proceeds to make him grow green hair/fur - which then spreads and grows all over his house/property and then presumably devours the entire earth. Pretty cool!
Demons
Directed by Dario Argento, this classic '80s Italian horror is about a bunch of people being locked inside a cinema, whilst the film playing comes to life - demons pour out of the screen and start massacring the patrons! It is awesome, and has a sweet '80s rock soundtrack!
