Britney Spears' Piece Of Me music video came at the tail-end of 2007, a year that saw Britney Spears put under a lot of pressure by the media, specifically tabloids and the paparazzi. It's a video/track that responds to Britney's past, and was one of the highlights of her 5th album Blackout. However, at least one person thinks there's a part of the video that hasn't been discussed.
Reddit user WouldItNot has put together a huge thread about how they think that Britney Spears' head was superimposed on someone else's body in the video for about "10 seconds total". They say that they think she's been superimposed during the dance sequence in the bathroom, for "specific dance movements".
There's precedent to Britney's team editing her body in music videos. As WouldItNot reminds us, in the video for 2013's Work Bitch, the visual effects studio that worked on it released stills of how they airbrushed Britney's body. However, this is on a slightly different level.
WouldItNot goes through the bathroom sequence shot-by-shot to illustrate their point, and by the end, it's hard to argue with them. We're hoping that after this, WouldItNot turns to some other mysteries, because we're confident there's nothing they can't solve.
The timing of the video makes the theory more plausible. It was shot just months before Britney was entered into a conservatorship by her father, Jamie Spears, entering rehab earlier in the year. The thread is a reminder of the public pressures that were on Britney, which may have meant she wasn't ready to perform the dance moves necessary for the video.
