Cardi B has taken out Billboard's Woman Of The Year award and, as always, the critics have sounded the alarm.
The biggest complaint seems to be that she's only had one solo single this year. That song WAP shot to number 1 here and in the US and is one of the biggest songs of the year so far.
Cardi took to Instagram Live to remind people of that fact beginning with, "Morning y'all, it's your girl Cardi B, and yes, I am Woman of the Year."
“And for you cry babies like, 'But she only got one song!' Yeah, I got that song, bitch," she continued.
"You know, the one that sold the most? The one that streamed the most? The one that had Republicans crying on Fox News about it. The one that have a song that's about to be six times platinum in three months."
Then she really stuck the knife in saying, "The one that had your grandma popping her pussy on TikTok. Yeah bitch, that one.”
I mean, not my Grandma, but we get her point. The song was massive in a year that's been lacking blockbuster events.
Previously, the Billboard Woman Of The Year award has gone to Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift and more. Cardi is the first black woman in more than a decade to take out the award which means the criticism should really be aimed at Billboard for taking so long, tbh.
Beyoncé-backed duo Chloe x Halle took out the Rising Star award.
