While Australians are spewing that Childish Gambino didn't come visit us this November, Kiwi attendees at the PHAROS Festival in Auckland have scored the very first teaser trailer for Donald Glover's new film with Rihanna.
Though phones were reportedly not allowed at PHAROS (or inside the dome for Glover's performance anyway), an attendee managed to film the two-minute trailer that we first got wind of earlier this year.
Reportedly called Guava Island, the film looks to be shot in the Caribbean and features Glover and Rihanna playing a couple in "paradise".
Directed by long-time collaborator Hiro Murai - who directed this year's immensely moving This Is America and many episodes of Atlanta - you can tell the film's gonna have that similar vibe of lighter humorous moments mixed in with heavy themes (it looks like Glover gets abducted in the film) and loads of music.
Interestingly it's also billed as "A Childish Gambino Film", so are we looking at a production house in future from the multi-hyphenate?
Anyway, check out the trailer below to cure that PHAROS FOMO and let's hope CG visits us real soon.
