Following the release of the first single from their new era, The Real Thing, back in August, iconic Aussie duo Client Liaison are back with a new song today called The Beat Supreme.
Set in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, the video is another showcase of CL's unwavering attention to detail and highly stylised Australiana aesthetic, coupled with a groovy track that throws back to the halcyon days of '80s Australian pop. Just check out those matching khaki outfits.
The narrative of the music video is basically that the boys are on the hunt for the so-called "Beat Supreme", using metal detectors and other gadgets to search through the desert for it.
Monte explains, "Client Liaison venture far into the outback in search of the Great Australian Sound. Looking back while moving forward, we seek to awaken a second wave of superior Australian vibration. An ode to our musical heroes ‘the groove elite’, INXS, Icehouse, Yothu Yindi, Tina Arena, John Farhnam and Christine Anu, The Beat Supreme is the sound of the Australian soil and all it’s intricate extremes."
There are also some downright golden shots in it, namely Harvey in a hard hat, the both of them on top of huge construction equipment and proceeding to dance at sundown in front of a raging fire. It's just *chef's kiss*.
Remember, Client Liaison kick off a huge Australian tour on October 17th all the way until November 9th. They'll be spending their New Year's playing NYE In The Park in Sydney and then next March they head over to Japan's Snow Machine festival in the Hakuba ski fields.
