    It’s been about 40 years since Bryan Gregory (Gregory Beckerleg) pictured above met Lux Interior (Erick Purkhiser) pictured below working in a record store. I guess they might have bonded because they looked (and may well have been) fucking weird.



    In good news for everyone Lux had a band with his girlfriend Poison Ivy Rorschach (Kristy Wallace) and they needed a bass player. Bryan volunteered but, in a stroke of good luck, knew nothing about bass (or guitars actually) and bought a guitar. And suddenly they had a two guitar and drums band called The Cramps who invented psychobilly and stuff like that.

    It’s been 35 years since they released their first album and it still shines as bright as ever:






    I don’t know if it’s as good as the Gravest Hits EP, but it is fucking good and bass wouldn’t have helped.
