If you're a ride-or-die fan of Travis Scott, then you might be spending a bit more than you realise on following his career.
A new study by Money.co.uk took a look at how much it costs to be a fan of artists like Travis Scott, Eminem, Drake, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar and more, using the criteria of:
- The average price of an album download
- The average cost of their official merchandise products
- The typical price of a live gig ticket
- The cost of an authentic signed item
- Where possible, the price for a 12” vinyl album
They then packaged these costs into a "Superfan Starter Package", and the results might surprise you - especially if you're a fan of Eminem or Travis Scott.
To be a fan of Eminem, it costs $2,966.66 USD, while to be a fan of Travis Scott it costs $2,244.39 USD. This is mainly due to how hard it is to find signed merch from the pair - as the report states, "a signed copy of Eminem’s Encore album is listed on eBay at £1,999/$2760, whilst a signed Travis Scott Birds in the Trap CD is going for £1,444/$1,995."
For fans of Cardi B and Ed Sheeran, the cost is a lot cheaper, coming in at $243.98 and $256.95 respectively, partly due to the affordability of their merch, both signed and unsigned.
