You all know we love our Because Records friends Django Django even when they wear silly stuff like above.
We admit openly to hanging for the follow up to their great album, and we are excited to know they are close to venturing into the studio. Good news for 2015.
We’ve also praised their interesting and eclectic digging before around these parts but now they have made it official and done a Late Night Tales mix. It’s another essential in what is already a great series.
In common with everyone else in that series their mix has a self-selected cover version, and in typical Django style they have chosen a track from the Monkees most obscure and psychedelic album Head.
This is the one where Michael Nesmith took control, took acid (probably) and made a real band album. Of course it didn’t sell. But it’s a classic.
So we get a diggers gem and a new thing from DD all at once which can’t be bad and serves only to make us move closer to the edge of our seats.
