flowerkid's debut EP has been in the works for a little while now, and everyone has a breaking point has just been released. Emotionally prepare yourself, because flowerkid's songwriting on this EP packs a gut punch with every lyric.
The project features previously released singles miss andry, it's happening again and vodka orange juice, as well as a trio of new tracks. It's an introspective project, and acts as a balm for your own emotional pain at times, while revealing wounds at other points throughout the six-track EP.
Each song showcases a slightly different side of his sound, building on the promise of the singles that we've previously heard from the EP. The opening track, it's happening again, is a collaboration with LA-based KUČKA, the only guest on the project. it's happening again features drum-laden production, but flowerkid's vocals are just as emotive and impactful as any other track on the project.
The penultimate track why bother is a confessional one, as flowerkid sings about needing the validation of someone else to exist. It's a deeply honest song, and one that listeners will relate to - sometimes, we look externally to try to find value in ourselves.
The project draws from his experiences of coming out as trans, with music becoming a refuge when he needed to express himself. everyone has a breaking point is deeply personal, but never insular. Being so open with his audience means that those listening to flowerkid are likely to be more comfortable expressing their own thoughts and feelings, rather than keeping them locked away.
