You Don’t Own Me by Grace (Sewell) turned out pretty good. The rap by G-Eazy gives it a great twist and there’s no doubt it’s going to be a hit. Props on the song choice too – sort of trip hop before it was trip hop, mutated into a very ‘now’ dubstephop…
It’s definitely a worthy successor to the definitive version by Lesley Gore (here seen smashing it on the 1964 TAMI show)
And not a bad effort when compared to the “other” cover – by the great Dusty Springfield -
