Must be a good feeling to have a debut album you've worked on for three years out in the world. GLADES are definitely feeling the good vibes today with their debut, To Love You, out today and a headline tour impending to showcase just how good it is to the world.
We caught up with the Sydney trio recently and we decided to turn the clock back and ask the band about their firsts - their first CD purchase and their first gig.
"My first ever album, my mum bought me a Delta Goodrem album, self-titled, and I knew every word!" Karina laughs. "And it was a picture of her with her hair flowing!"
Joey says, "Probably the first album I bought with my own money was Room For Squares by John Mayer," while Cam surprised us by saying, "I started listening to music when streaming was out. I didn't really ever listen to music until I was in late Year 12. I didn't start listening to pop music until I was like, 18, when I started making music."
And first concerts?
Joey's was Chvrches at Metro Theatre in Sydney, while the first gig Karina and Cam went to was The 1975.
Stay tuned for our full interview with GLADES and in the meantime, check out their new album To Love You!
