March 3rd, 2014 is the date of our most anticipated Australian release of the year. At least so far anyway, but it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that the date will herald what is likely to be the best Australian release of 2014. It’s on March 3rd, 2014 that Oscar Key Sung will drop the Holograms EP which is guaranteed to be the most visceral listening experience you’re likely to have for a very long time.
We’ve heard two singles prior to this, the slow builder ‘It’s Coming’ and the four to the floor filler ’All I Could Do’. Both of them were severely on point and yep, last week it became three from three. The title track from the Holograms EP is smooth as silk, slippery vocals, minimal production and oozing sex appeal. “I run my hand through you” simultaneously a sex act and a reference to the hologram under which the song is titled, it’s a special ditty. My take on it is that it’s once again addressing the 2pac hologram from Coachella circa 2013 but I haven’t been able to reach Oscar for comment yet so stay tuned.
