Everyone's prone to a bout of forgetfulness every now and then, but in Jay-Z's case, it happens to have happened when he's on stage performing in front of a crowd. Speaking on HBO's The Shop: UninterruptedJay-Z admitted that he's had his lyrics slip his mind before.

Talking to LeBron James, Jay-Z says, “In the beginning, I used to get on the stage and just forget all my lyrics." Of course, he's not the only one. After all, when you have a whole discography of lyrics to remember, things just slip your mind.

Take the time that Kanye West was previewing his track Good Life at the 2009 SXSW Festival. While it's gone on to be one of his most popular tracks, at the time, he was struggling to make it stick in his brain.

The excitement of New Year's can get to us all. At least, we think that's the reason that Drake forgot the lyrics to The Motto when he was performing it.

It also happened to Kid Cudi back in 2009, after coming out for an encore to perform his track Alive. Of course, Cudi being Cudi, he had an excuse, saying, "I forgot my own words! I really smoke a lot of weed."
