It's fair to say that Kanye West has been in media headlines a lot lately, and not always for the right reasons.
However, an Australian dancer has shared a story on TikTok that delves into why she believes Kanye is a good guy, and it relates to his 2011 Splendour In The Grass performance.
@mariarekowski was a back-up dancer for Kanye's headlining performance, with Kanye closing the Amphitheatre stage on the Friday night. Maria was part of the crew of dancers Kanye hired for the performance, which featured tracks from each of Kanye's first four albums, a couple of his guest verses on Jay-Z tracks and his verse on Katy Perry's E.T.
In the TikTok, which was subsequently shared on social media by Whatslively, Maria speaks about how Kanye put a stop to his posse's inappropriate behaviour towards the dancers during an afterparty following the show.
The comment section does raise the question of what we expect from men - this should be the minimum. Nevertheless, that's not always the case, so it's heartening to see Kanye standing up for his employees in this story.
