While Kendrick Lamar fans may have been expecting that we'd hear about new music before his instantly-iconic Super Bowl performance alongside Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg and Mary J. Blige, it looks like we'll know more about his upcoming album in June (if not beforehand).
First noticed by ToneDeaf and Don't Bore Us, Twitter account @OnnThinIce posted a press release that announced Kendrick's return to Italy, where he's set to perform at the Milan Summer Festival.
He'll be returning to Italy for the first time since 2014 on Thursday, June 23rd, and the press release says he "will play the pieces of the new album, long awaited by fans". That's a bit of an understatement if you ask us!
Kendrick's Super Bowl performance paid homage to the late fashion icon Virgil Abloh, wearing a suit from his final collection for Louis Vuitton. He performed sections of his tracks m.A.A.d city and Alright, while surrounded by dancers wearing black suits and sashes with "Dre Day" emblazoned on them.
It was a performance that brought together five of music's biggest superstars (with a surprise appearance from 50 Cent), with each artist playing snippets of their biggest hit/s. They all performed within a set designed to replicate the architecture of a Californian street (fitting, given the game was at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California), and it's a performance fans won't forget for a long, long time. You can watch the performance by visiting the NFL's YouTube channel here.
