Producer Kenny Beats is having some sort of a 2019.
Having already contributed to one of the best hip-hop projects this year, Rico Nasty's Anger Management, Kenny has gone ahead and remixed a Spongebob song into a beat.
No, you're not reading that incorrectly.
It comes after a challenge from fellow producer Nick Mira, who made a Spongebob-sampling beat of his own.

Of course, Kenny then had to go and one-up him, with a beat so hard that it'd have Bikini Bottom shaking.

Honestly, this might be the best bit of Spongebob-related content in a long time.
It's been a busy year for Kenny, who has transformed himself from an EDM producer, to working with some of the hottest names in hip-hop, including Dominic Fike and Vince Staples.
He spoke about his transition from EDM to hip-hop to Pitchfork, saying “One day it hit me like, “What is the music I really wanna make?” I understood how I got there and it was great but [I had to ask myself] in ten years, what did I want to be known for? I didn’t want to be perceived as a musician in that way. Rap is the only thing that’s ever mattered to me. That’s what I wanted to make, and I had an epiphany: I need to do this right now."
He's also been producing one of the best series on YouTube for a little while now, called The Cave - where he gets different artists to come in every fortnight to spit over a new beat from him.
Past artists to appear on the show include the aforementioned Vince Staples, Doja Cat (who's making her way to Australia as part of the Listen Out festival), JPEGMAFIA and more.
