Kid Cudi has shared the trailer for a documentary that'll take an in-depth look at his life, and we can't wait to watch this.
Directed by Robert Alexander, A Man Named Scott “explores Cudi’s journey over a decade of creative choices, struggles and breakthroughs, making music that continues to move and empower his millions of fans around the world”.
At the start of the trailer, Cudi talks about the act of making music, saying, “Creating something new and helping people, it’s always been an escape for me. And it’s freeing.” He also speaks about who he has in mind when he makes music, saying, "How can I make something that calls out to the broken, the lost. I need to feel something with the music."
The title A Man Named Scott plays on the title of Cudi's debut mixtape, A Kid Named Cudi. The documentary will follow Cudi's musical journey to date, as well as speak to fans and collaborators about his impact. It'll also touch on Cudi's internal struggles, with an interview with Cudi for the documentary
Cudi's always been open about topics like mental health and isolation, which were discussed most prominently in his Man On The Moon album trilogy, with his 2020 album, Man On The Moon III: The Chosen closing out the trilogy.
