A while back Santigold hipped me to a tune I hadn’t noticed on an album I had but hadn’t paid attention to. I wasn’t too into Lightspeed Champion so I didn’t pay enough attention to Blood Orange. But as she pointed out S’Cooled was one I shouldn’t have missed.

Now a few months later Dev Hynes is producing Solange Knowles, the more interesting sister of the famous Beyonce. And this single “Losing You” is a real treat. She’s free of her major label associations (for now) and she recorded this for Terrible Records – the label of Chris from Grizzly Bear. This is the result -

 

The beautiful video features some awesomely dressed African dudes called Les Sapeurs and the least well flattened croquet pitch of all time. Worth looking at for that reason alone. The Sapeurs (African slang for a very well dressed chap) are from the Congo and worth a post on their own but if you are impatient for that read about them HERE.
