Goodna artist Lisi and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra are bringing their worlds together for one night only, and it's an event you won't want to miss. Taking place at Brisbane's Princess Theatre on June 25th, it'll be a chance to hear tracks like Say Less, Like This and 64 Bars Home performed in new and exciting ways, all the while staying true to his roots.
The event, which is the launch of Red Bull Symphonic, will see Lisi re-shaping his discography, backed by some seriously talented classical musicians as part of the 25-piece QSO. Across the night, he'll also be joined by the SELAH Samoan Gospel choir and Samoan drummers, as well as fellow Brisbane MC Nokz, vocalist Faith Sosense and TH4 W3ST. What a line-up!
Speaking about the event, Lisi explains, "I definitely feel like I was born for this. I want to make sure my songs are always pushing a message. No one really gives us a chance where I’m from - people view Goodna and Ipswich as an area filled with crime and thugs, and I want to show everyone that it’s not the case.
"Our area is a thriving community of arts, music, culture and community and I’m really proud of where I’m from. Being able to share our stories in a venue like The Princess Theatre, being backed by Queensland Symphony Orchestra, it’s going to be a show I’ll never forget. Thanks to Red Bull for making it happen!”
The orchestra will be conducted by Nick Buc, an award-winning composer, conductor and arranger. He's worked with the likes of Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Mo'Ju and The Avalanches, and we're looking forward to seeing these two words collide.
