Machine Gun Kelly turned heads when he switched from rapping to pop-punk with his 2020 album Tickets To My Downfall. At the time, he announced he'd be releasing a musical adaptation of the record, and you can now stream it online.
The film is called Downfalls High, and it's narrated by both MGK and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. You'll want to keep an eye out for the cameos, too, as it features Trippie Redd, blackbear and Iann Dior, with Chase Hudson and Sydney Sweeney in the starring roles.
Speaking about the film, MGK previously told NME that it's a "new pop-punk Grease." He says, “It was almost like shooting 14 music videos back-to-back, but with a narrative that’s outside of my personal life stories.
“It focuses on other characters, and then me and [Barker] are just the narrators. It’s an interesting concept because it hasn’t been done for an album ever, maybe outside of like Pink Floyd’s The Wall.”
The film sees Chase and Sydney in a high-school relationship, and is a reminder that not all love stories end up happy (but you'll have to watch it to see what happens). Directed by MGK and Californian artist Mod Sun, it's a great realisation of MGK's vision (and even includes a choreographed puke scene).
