Mardi Gras and APRA AMCOS are teaming up to give LGBTQI+ musicians a chance to perform at Mardi Gras next year - a dream gig, if you ask us.
APRA AMCOS is the industry body for songwriters, composers and music publishers in Australia. If you're an Australian musician, then they've got your back.
They're set to host the Express Yourself - Queer Discovery showcase series, which will involve three events in the next few months.
At each showcase, two emerging LGBTQI+ artists will perform on the same bill as a big-name headliner. They'll be playing to members of the music industry, as well as the general public.
A panel of guest judges from the LGBTQI+ community and music industry will then select two artists from the showcase series to play Mardi Gras.
