Mardi Gras and APRA AMCOS are teaming up to give LGBTQI+ musicians a chance to perform at Mardi Gras next year - a dream gig, if you ask us.

APRA AMCOS is the industry body for songwriters, composers and music publishers in Australia. If you're an Australian musician, then they've got your back.

They're set to host the Express Yourself - Queer Discovery showcase series, which will involve three events in the next few months.

At each showcase, two emerging LGBTQI+ artists will perform on the same bill as a big-name headliner. They'll be playing to members of the music industry, as well as the general public.

A panel of guest judges from the LGBTQI+ community and music industry will then select two artists from the showcase series to play Mardi Gras.

If you're an emerging artist in the LGBTQI+ community, then this might be the big break you've been working towards. It's been a tough touring year, but thisis a bit of light at the end of the tunnel.

Looking to apply? You can fill out an application here. The first showcase will be held at Sydney venue The Beresford Upstairs on Saturday, November 28th.

Stay tuned for more details, including a headliner announcement. There's no word on who's playing yet, but if it's anyone like Troye Sivan, Miss Blanks or Courtney Barnett, then your career's about to get a huge leg up!
