He's 22 years old, has been sampled by Kendrick Lamar and has been on tour with Liam Gallagher, so who is this RAT BOY kid?
The British indie rocker was born Jordan Cardy and is one of the coolest young dudes on the scene right now. He's already caught the attention of Tim Armstrong from legendary punk band Rancid, who's written, produced and collaborated on RAT BOY's upcoming new material.
With one full-length called Scum and three EP/mixtapes tucked in his pocket already, the Essex local has already scored millions upon millions of streams - you might've already heard songs like LAIDBACK, which impressively features guitar work from Blur guitarist Graham Coxon. And he's not the only Blur member to throw some attention RAT BOY's way - Blur frontman Damon Albarn also features on songs TURN ROUND M8 and GET OVER IT.
Not bad all by the age of 21!
Then he found out that Kendrick had sampled his song Knock Knock Knock on his song LUST. (on his album DAMN.). He tweeted, "I’m on the new kendrick album… thats mad one of my favourite artists what a compliment damn. big up @kendricklamar for sampling me on lust hit me up in dm xx sounds sick.”
Still trips me out that my voice is on the Kendrick Lamar album lol

Kendrick's not the only artist in the hip hop space giving the young rocker kudos. Brockhampton also played one of RAT BOY's songs on their Beats1 show Things We Lost In The Fire.
Just last week, RAT BOY dropped a handful of new songs from his next album collaborating with Tim Armstrong, INTERNATIONALLY UNKNOWN, which is out in full next January through Tim's record label Hellcat Records.
Sounds like this is a start of a huge 2019 for RAT BOY; we're so keen to see what he gets up to next!
