Ready to feel old? It's the 15th anniversary of Hannah Montana, aka the show that introduced the world to Miley Cyrus, and she's paid tribute to the series, and her character, with a heartfelt letter.
In the letter, posted to social media, she recounts the time spent filming the show, writing, "It's been a while. 15 years to be exact. Since the first time I slid those blonde bangs over my forehead in the best attempt to conceal my identity. Then slipped into a puke pink terry cloth robe and a bedazzled HM over the [heart]."
Miley was 13 when the series premiered back in March 2006, and was one of the Disney Channel's biggest shows ever. Miley has a lot of fond memories of Hannah, writing, "In reality there was a time in my life when you held more of my identity in your glove than I did my bare hands. We had an equal exchange in which you provided me a superlative amount of fame in return for the anonymity I could gift to you."
The show was a bit of a family affair with her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, playing her dad in the show. Miley played Miley Stewart, who doubled as the pop star Hannah Montana. She starred alongside Emily Osment, Mitchell Musso and Jason Earl Jones, who all get mentioned in the letter.
She finishes the letter by writing, "Breathing life into you for those 6 years was an honor. I am indebted not only to you Hannah but to any and everyone who believed in me from the beginning. You all have my loyalty and deepest appreciation until the end. With all sincerity I say THANK YOU!"
