If you're a fan of metal, then you're going to appreciate this story. A New Zealand mum has named her three kids after three of the biggest metal bands in the world, and we're kind of jealous of their awesome names.
New Zealand documentary filmmaker and actor David Farrier spoke about the story in his newsletter, while it was also reported by Metal Hammer.
The mum has named her three children Metallica, Pantera and Slayer, and David wrote, “Proud to report that a New Zealand mother has named her children Metallica, Pantera and Slayer. She told me, ‘It’s not easy raising three of the heaviest bands.'”
David claims he's seen their birth certificates, and he reached out to New Zealand's Registrar-General Jeff Montgomery to confirm whether the names were legitimate. His suspicions were heightened after he noticed that Metallica's middle name was And Justice For All, after Metallica's fourth album.
He received confirmation that the names were indeed real, with Jeff replying, “There are no restrictions on naming babies after bands or albums, as long as the word used is not generally considered to be offensive or does not resemble an official rank or title.”

The mum's also a big fan of crossbows, according to David, so it's clear that she's committed to living a truly metal lifestyle. Raise your horns to someone that talks the talk AND walks the walk, and we wish Metallica, Pantera and Slayer a great life (their names will be hard to forget).
