We've been blown away by UCLA gymnast Nia Dennis' routine dedicated to Black Excellence, and so has the rest of the internet.
Her recent floor performance contains a mash-up of tracks by Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé, Megan Thee Stallion and more, and she got a well-earned score of 9.5 for the routine, winning a college competition in the process.
Throughout the routine, she included tracks like Kendrick's HUMBLE and DNA, as well as Tupac's California Love - as a UCLA student, she wanted to pay respects to her home city.
Speaking about the performance to the Los Angeles Daily News, Nia says the performance was a representation of who she is. “This routine definitely reflects everything that I am today as a woman, and of course I had to incorporate a lot of parts of my culture. I wanted to have a dance party because that’s my personality and of course I had to shout out LA because we out here, UCLA.”
This is what #blackexcellence looks like. @DennisNia does it again! ?
