Fans have been awaiting Oliver Tree's new album, Cowboy Tears, which he's previously said is set to be his last. He's given an update on the progress of the album, and it sounds like it's on the way soon.
Taking to Instagram, Oliver wrote, "I’ve spent the last month exploring the Middle East & Northern Africa while finishing my final album Cowboy Tears. This trip has shaped my entire perspective on the world. Life is not about the destination, but the journey.
"The two year journey creating this album has made me mature and evolve into the artist and (most importantly) the human I’ve always wanted to be. I can’t wait for y’all to hear what I’ve been pouring my soul into all this time. To the old fans, thank you for sticking around, and to the new fans, thank you for joining us on this beautiful journey."
The album is reportedly set to lean more into country music, and away from the sounds that fans might have come to expect. Speaking to Audacy about Cowboy Tears, Oliver says, "This is the only thing I listen to. I only listen to the new stuff. I'm like, this is the greatest album I've ever heard in my entire life. If you guys don't want it, I could care less because I'm listening to this thing 24/7."
Oliver previously announced the existence of Cowboy Tears back in June, saying that he'd "come out of retirement" to record the album. He announced it in a clip featuring an absolutely massive guitar, which honestly looks like a bit of a struggle to play. Not sure how that's holding up in the studio.
I’ve come out of retirement to record one more album called “Cowboy Tears.” After a year of soul searching, I’ve finally found myself… pic.twitter.com/knBT2z9Zux
