What do you get when you combine four French masters of club music? Apparently a throbbing techno tune married with future R&B. It may not be the most obvious result particularly if you're using Daft Punk and Justice as your guide but this is one banging tune regardless from the foursome of Canblaster, Sam Tiba, Myd and Panteros666. Discipline follows their smooth debut From The Basement To The Roof and while that tune was great this one really introduces them as an exciting force in the electronic spectrum.
It's driven by an alarm-like synth which howls its way through the chorus with an obnoxiousness that's infectious while the R&B-tinged verses give it some immediately melody. It's the kind of track that you'd get down to in the verses and then raise your arms in the air like you just don't care in the chorus. It's the title track from their forthcoming debut album which, if this is anything to go by, will be a much-needed shot of fresh energy for the international electronic scene. We didn't know we needed it but now we finally have a boy band of producers we don't know how we ever lived without.
BONUS: Club Cheval aren't leaving us high and dry with just one track, they have also gifted us with a 30 minute mix for French label Bromance. It brings together tracks by Club Cheval's individual members alongside Rihanna, vintage Janet and fresh techno/electronica from around the globe. They leave us on the synth-line of Discipline which in the context of a mix sounds even more mighty.
