OK. So sometimes it is good to live in the biggest city. Even if its not the Capital. It isn’t usual for acts to play only one city but sadly for everyone else that is the decision for Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. For one night only & in just one town, so if you’re in Sydney this Sunday (March 23) consider yourself lucky.

Kyary is queen of the Harajuku girls (it’s a very fashionable area of Tokyo) and she is a big selling J-Pop artist who thanks to her quirky style and image could have us posting images like the one above for days. Just for fun here’s another couple we like, the first complete with confusing bleeding nose action.

We of course remember Harajuku Girls from Gwen Stefani’s brilliant cultural raid but Kyary is more like Lady Ga Ga in style and approach and her song “Fashion Monster” is GaGa in a parallel universe of J-Pop strangeness:

How about that for video? A dark trip on Alice In Wonderland with a bit of Nightmare Before Christmas vibe and the strangest instruments ever.

Anyway, all things Kyary are super cool and if you are in Sydney don’t miss it on any account (especially as we are told a lot of fans dress up for the shows) but one we liked nearly best of all was this live TV moment when she seems to have decided to be supported by the oompah loompahs…

You can watch it in all its wonderful weirdness HERE

Was the chocolate factory shut that day?

Kyary plays the UNSW Roundhouse on Sunday and tix are available HERE and if you’re not lucky enough to be in Sydney you can still join in on the fun by copping her back catalogue of zaniness HERE.
