Brisbane-based dark R&B artist PRAX is making a name for himself through his blend of R&B, emo rap and pop, and his latest single is set to get both old and new fans excited. He's linked up with US artist 916frosty for his latest track, ETHANOL, and we're really excited to be premiering the track ahead of its official release right now.

If you're a fan of artists like The Weeknd, Lil Peep and Juice WRLD, then chances are you'll dig PRAX's sound. He's always been a fan of punk rock since he was young, and you can hear the influence in ETHANOL. Punk rock and dark R&B/emo rap share a lot of stylistic influences, and you can trace a line between acts like Good Charlotte, and artists like PRAX and 916frosty - which for punk kids that grew up to love rap and R&B is very exciting.

ETHANOL sees PRAX opening up about his past struggles, including battling with mental health issues and addiction. It's a raw, honest track, and if you're going through any hard times in your life, you'll be able to relate to the emotion in PRAX's voice. Neither artist holds back with their vocal delivery on ETHANOL, and it makes for a powerful listen.

Speaking about the collaboration with 916frosty, PRAX says it's an honour to work with an artist he was a fan of, even before he started making music. "When I wrote ETHANOL it came from a place of anger, uncertainty and sadness in my heart that I felt like I had not expressed yet. A lot of things have happened in my life that made me feel this way so when I started writing it, it really flowed through me and everything came pouring out. A few of the lyrics are aimed at previous friends, who turned against me and betrayed me. But the song is mainly about my journey through depression, suicidal thoughts and drug addiction. A collection of my thoughts and raw emotions.

"My friend Daniel first showed me 916frosty's music during Schoolies a few years ago, this was before I had even started making music. My mates and I fell in love with his song enough, and we all became hardcore fans. To be working with frosty is very special to me because his music helped me through a lot of hard times. 916frosty and I have been working on this song for like a year just waiting for the right time to drop so we're super excited."

You can check out ETHANOL above. PRAX's blend of R&B, rock and pop is blurring the line between different genres, which means there's something in this track for hardcore fans of each of those genres, as well as those that just want to hear something new. Put this track on, and get ready to scream along - you won't be able to stop yourself getting carried away.
