Sydney-based rapper Macca.47 is gearing up to release his new track, Back That Ass Up, and it's a track that sees him spitting over a house beat. It's reminiscent of UK rappers rapping over house/techno beats, and it'll get you moving.
The video for the track is made up of never-before-seen footage from Macca's dad's archive. Macca's dad (aka Dave Muirhead) put on some of the first-ever raves in Sydney, including a wild event called Colossus, where the footage comes from. It's clear that his recent direction is inspired, at least in part, by his dad's part in history as one of the first House DJs in Australia, and we're premiering the video for Back That Ass Up right now!
Macca's been writing and making music for a decade now, and recently came back from a hiatus with a refined sound, and a clearer vision of the music he wanted to make. He's always been around music, and he sounds at home rapping over house/techno beats.
The track was produced by Sydney producer Spitty, and he's put together a beat that'll get you amped up for your next night out. We reckon this would hit different on a packed dancefloor, so you'll want to keep this in mind next time a DJ is taking requests.
Back That Ass Up is Macca's first release of 2021, before dropping some more singles in the very near future. It's all set to culminate in a record coming later this year, and we can't wait to hear what he's got in store.

Check out Back That Ass Up above. Macca's looking to break the Internet with this one (or at least, get more people rapping over house beats), and we're digging his love letter to the club scene of yesteryear.
