Perth hip-hop duo Otiuh (aka Jahmeil Baker and Cesare Papa) have been friends since childhood, which means they've been through a lot together.
They've channelled the bond they've formed over a lifetime's worth of shenanigans into a fiery new track, Friends Like, and we're rapt to be premiering it right now. They've set their sights on people that love judging those around them, and they've had enough of it.
The track was initially written by Jahmeil to be a lo-fi slow-burner, before Cesare spun it into a trap-influenced banger. The production perfectly fits the adrenaline-inducing lyrics, and Friends Like will get your heart racing.
Speaking about the song, Jahmeil says, "It's kind of a weird process. I recorded a verse and Cesare put a demo together, and he had an initial excitement for the track which in turn got me excited.
"Two weeks later he's lost excitement over the demo, but he still really loved the verse that I'd written. He came back with a brand new beat. Every time we listen to it, it slaps more. We want the track to serve as a reminder that you don't HAVE to hang out with people outside your family really. You choose friends. Choose better ones."

Check out Friends Like above. The song is the latest in a string of singles from the pair that have seen them nominated for WAM's Hip Hop Act of 2021, as well as selling out shows in WA. They're home-town favourites, but it won't be long before they're turning heads nationwide.
