Sydney pop artist Sarah Saint James knows what it's like to make a bad decision or two, but she's not going to beat herself up over the choices she's made. Instead, she's decided to celebrate the ill-considered decisions that make us who we are with her new single DBE, which stands for 'dumb bitch energy'.
We're stoked to be premiering Sarah's new single right now, and it hits close to home. if you've ever had a period in your life where you feel like you're making the same mistakes again and again, then this song is for you. Don't go back to the ex you've just gotten rid of (but if you do, DBE will be there to comfort you).
If you're a fan of distorted pop vocals, pop-culture references that hit just right, and a chorus that's perfect for singing on a night out, then you'll dig DBE. Get your crew together, and throw this song on. It'll make for an unforgettable night, and maybe a few regrets the next day.
Speaking about the track, Sarah says it's a celebration of the choices we make that might not always be for the best. "For the longest time, I wanted to write a song that kind of celebrated making stupid life choices. I feel like my twenties have been full of me repeating the same dumb decisions over and over but I still do them, cause at the time they feel good, and I always end up forgetting the consequences the next time around.
"I wanted this song to be a weird comfort in realising that you’re probably just gonna have times where you take the wrong road, and it doesn’t make you a bad person, it just means you’re living through some dumb bitch energy."
