Rackett are one of the hardest working punk bands in Australia right now. Having played over 150 shows in the last year and dropping a new EP, Ready Or Not, the quartet are now back at it with a new song called Tried To Quit.
It's punchy and loud, like an injection of energy straight to your veins, and we thought we'd get to know the boss ladies in Rackett better to find out just where that energy comes from. Turns out it's from being totally immersed in the entertainment industry from a young age!
Here are 5 things you don't know about Rackett, as written by the band themselves!
Astrid is a sound engineer
Before becoming the drummer for Rackett, Astrid was our sound engineer for The Darkness Tour. She's been working as a sound engineer for years and studied sound engineering. She also created our in-ear monitoring system and solders our broken guitar leads.
Bec was in an Aussie horror film
Before making music her full time gig, Bec starred as the lead character in the Australian horror film, There's Something In The Pilliga. This is her on the front cover of
the film's artwork.
Ally danced at Disneyland
Ally and Bec were both dancers throughout their childhood. When Ally was a little dancer she travelled to America to perform at Disneyland and at some other festivals in the States.
We're obsessed with Britney Spears '90s clips
We love #britneyspears on Insta. She’s incredible live during the '90s, I’m assuming it’s all lip syncing, sorry Brit if you really are singing babe, but her onstage
choreography and styling is on point. Obsessed with #youdrivemecrazy live and #meagainstthemusic with Madonna.
We're the most annoying band to cater for
Between the four of us we're gluten free, lactose intolerant, vegan, soy intolerant and sugar free.
Rackett are touring from now until the end of the year, including sets at Jungle Love Festival, Lost Paradise and a bunch of headline sets.
