Hip-hop music comes faster than any other genre. It's not uncommon for a rapper to drop upwards of three projects a year and while that's great, it becomes increasingly hard to stay on top of it. 'The Rap Wrap' is our attempt to keep you in the know on the weekly. This week, we're giving you new tunes from Saweetie's new EP and A$AP Ferg's EDM turn.
Saweetie - Emotional (Feat. Quavo)
Saweetie and her beau Quavo sample Beyoncé's Crazy In Love and bring us back to old school hip-hop on this Icy highlight. It's an instant classic.
G-Eazy & Blueface - West Coast (Feat. ALLBLACK & YG)
G Eazy has teamed up with the viral rapper of the moment Blueface plus he's enlisted ALLBLACK & YG for a loaded remix of his latest single. It's a very West Coast sounding rap track which is appropriate given its name.
Melii - Trip
Melii dropped an entire project this week phAses only further proving her title as one of the best new players in the game. Trip is our favourite jam. It's a blurry, effortless cut that manages to breeze by and still leave an impact.
NGHTMRE - Redlight (Feat. A$AP Ferg)
EDM producer NGHTMRE has teamed with A$AP Ferg for a trap track that smack you in the face from the first listen. Ferg is one of the most intense MCs around right now so it makes sense that he bodies this meaty beat.
Duckwrth - Unstatus Quo
Duckwrth has followed up a guest spot on the hugely popular Spider-Man soundtrack with his grooviest jam yet. Unstatus Quo has horns and it's clearly spurring on Duckwrth to deliver something very sexy.
MIST - Can't Stop Clocks
British grime MC MIST continues to rise to the top of the genre with another new single Can't Stop Clocks. It's tailor-made for the clubs, trading a grime beat for a Mustard-esque sound that's instantly likeable.
