Hip-hop music comes faster than any other genre. It's not uncommon for a rapper to drop upwards of three projects a year and while that's great, it becomes increasingly hard to stay on top of it. 'The Rap Wrap' is our attempt to keep you in the know on the weekly. This week, you're getting a Megan Thee Stallion and Normani team-up plus a cut from the Stormzy & Wiley beef.
Megan Thee Stallion & Normani - Diamonds
Diamonds is the first single of the forthcoming Birds Of Prey soundtrack and it's a cracking start. We've been waiting for Houston girls Megan and Normani to team up and they don't disappoint. Megan's verses are firing and Normani's rap hook is *chefs kiss*.
Mac Miller - Good News
Mac Miller's posthumous album Circles will be released next week as announced by his family. It's bittersweet but the first drop Good News reminds us just how powerful of an artist Miller was. He was releasing the best music of his career and Good News is proof.
A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie - Mood Wings (Feat. Youngn Lipz, Creed Tha Kid, Day1)
A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie is currently in the country for FOMO Festival and he's linked up with some locals for a remix of Mood Wings. If anything, it shows how strong our hip-hop contingent is right now.
Moneybagg Yo - Protect Da Brand (Feat. DaBaby)
Moneybagg's new album Time Served is stacked with big features but naturally we're gravitating to the DaBaby feature. The YC beat is DaBaby's prime playground giving him the chance to bounce all over the bop.
Mick Jenkins - The Light (Feat. Earthgang)
Mick Jenkins is beginning the new decade strong with his new project The Circus. He's linked up with Earthgang for this slow-burner that's an introspective centrepiece to a one of his most cohesive records yet.
Stormzy - Still Disappointed
Stormzy and Wiley are currently locked in a rap war. This is Stormzy's second reply to Wiley and it's a potent punch. He takes swipes at Wiley's family, particularly his Mum, which is likely to fire up the Grime Godfather anymore. Keep watching.
