Hip-hop music comes faster than any other genre. It's not uncommon for a rapper to drop upwards of three projects a year and while that's great, it becomes increasingly hard to stay on top of it. 'The Rap Wrap' is our attempt to keep you in the know on the weekly. This week, you're getting new music from the new Young Thug So Much Fun deluxe edition and Burna Boy's surprise drop.
Young Thug - Hop Off A Jet (Feat. Travis Scott)
Young Thug has had an extraordinary year off the back of So Much Fun and he's kept the momentum going with a deluxe edition of the album. He's unleashed a mighty cut in Hop Off A Jet tapping into the magic that he created with Scott on Pick Up The Phone again.
J Hus - No Denying
J Hus is back with another A+ drop to finish off 2019. No Denying is a dizzying, jazz-infused track that demonstrates exactly why Hus is one of the most captivating British MCs.
Burna Boy - Money Play
As if Burna Boy hadn't already put in enough work delivering one of this year's best LPs, he's delivered once again with new drop Money Play. It feels like an extension of African Giant, serving a similar, very welcome vibe.
Smino - Sleigh (Feat. Monte Booker & Masego)
Smino has been relatively quiet this year but he's come out for Christmas, slowing things down with this smooth holiday jam. It's from a 2-track collection called High For The Highladays and that aptly describes the feel of the song.
Sunday Service - Back To Life
It's not exactly rap but Sunday Service's Xmas drop Jesus Is Born has Kanye in the helm so we're giving it a mention. Here they flip Soul II Soul's Back To Life into a rousing gospel track that will at least make you feel like you've embraced some sort of spiritual learning this holiday.
