Savage Garden's Truly Madly Deeply is one of Australia's most-beloved songs, but that doesn't mean advertisers haven't had a crack at turning it into a jingle to sell food delivery.
Savage Garden's Darren Hayes has revealed himself as the hero we didn't know we needed, sharing the lyrics from a proposed re-record of the track, transforming the lyrics into an advertisement for getting food dropped off at your door.
Darren shared the lyrics and wrote on Twitter, "If you knew how much money I turn down and how hard I fight to protect your high school memories...", with lines such as "I want to stand with you on food mountain" living in our head rent-free from this moment forward.

In fairness, if someone played this in an ad, we're not sure we'd be able to resist the charm, but that's not a good thing - that's how ingrained in our consciousness this song is. Darren's fighting the good fight (or should that be food)?
People in the replies wanted to hear what the song would sound like, and Frenzal Rhomb's Lindsay McDougall grabbed his guitar and gave it a crack. You can check out his cover below. Aunty Donna also weighed in, and their take on this needs to become a reality.
I don't know how we didn't write this

If you hear this in an ad in the near future, you know that Darren's got an offer he couldn't refuse (but hopefully it doesn't come to that). For now, these covers will help you imagine what it would sound like in an ad, and how persuasive it could end up being...
I’m certainly not the only person who’s gonna do this, but I had to give it a go. Maybe we can all split the proceeds. pic.twitter.com/8y9L5tgwIE
