    It hasn't been the best year for new music in our ears. But one that does cop a regular spin or two is Elaenia by Floating Points.

    It's a sort of joyous spiritual jazz meets progressive electronica affair that blends all the best bits from this totally committed digger, and the end result brings us the warm feelings.

    And if you are starting to explore and enjoy that record, he’s just gone and done a beautiful essential mix which pulls all those diverse threads together and is really worth a listen.
